I’ll go out on a limb and declare that this week’s featured guest is the best bass fisherman on the planet today! Edwin Evers is one of only five fishermen in history to pass the $3 million mark in career winnings. Evers has recorded 11 wins and 118 Top 20s in his 22-year career. He has won the Bassmaster Classic and also the Major League Fishing Championship, the Redcrest Cup. Is there anyone better? I don’t think so.

He is also very heavily involved in a number of conservation efforts that aim to help fishing and water quality across the country. Listen to a great interview with a very intelligent and personable angler.

Jacob Powroznik joins the We Fish ASA podcast for episode #197. Jacob is the hottest stick on the bass fishing scene today. We couldn’t be any more impressed with how great this fisherman truly is. He’s won 7 major events in his relatively short career that has earned him a cool two million dollars. He already won a major MLF Bass Pro Tour event in Florida so far this year as well as a huge MLF Open victory at Lake Cayuga last week. This guy is scorching hot!
Dan Johnston from St. Croix joins us to talk about spring fishing techniques.
Steve and Dave spend a segment talking about how the Coronavirus is affecting the recording of the We Fish ASA podcast and give a “state of the podcast” report.

Guess who our featured guest is this week. Here are a few clues. He always fishes on the right SPOT. A trophy from Lake Fork is what he has GOT. When it comes to fishing, this guy is HOT. Lifetime winnings, he’s won a LOT. Nicer guys in Major League Fishing there are NOT. If he enters an event, he’ll win the POT. He drives a Nitro, not a YACHT. His birth certificate says “Arthur,” but everybody calls him “OTT.” That’s right, Ott DeFoe joins the We Fish ASA podcast for episode #196. We love the guy and you will too after you listen to this timely interview.
Dan Johnston from St. Croix joins us to talk about how fishing benefits your mind, body and soul, especially in these times of social distancing and voluntary quarantines.
The smartest man in the fishing business, Ken Duke from Fishing Tackle Retailer Magazine checks in to talk about the state of fishing today.

In 1971, Ray Scott loaded the best 24 bass fishermen in America onto an airplane in Atlanta. They had no idea where they were headed. Once in the air, Ray told them that they were going to Lake Mead in Nevada, a waterway that none of them had ever seen before. They were headed to fish the very first Bassmaster Classic. The winner was our guest, Bobby Murray. His grand prize was $10,000. What was the second-place prize? It was a big fat zero. Yep! The first Classic was a winner-take-all affair. Unbelievable! Bobby Murray did a great interview with us talking about the event, his second Classic win in 1978 and his illustrious career in fishing.
Martina “Marty” Drugovich caught an incredible 2.12-pound perch through the ice in Maine. It is the new state record and totally blew the old record away. She explains to us how she caught it.
Dan Johnston from St. Croix joins us to talk about getting ready for the fast-approaching open water season.
